My name is Elianno de 2nd !
The 2nd in my name is emphasized for two reasons. One is for the well deserved praise I have for my father who led the family to our prestige. And two, it is part of the slogan
me and my family live by, which is ‘Every 2nd Counts.’ The 2nd in the slogan has multiple meanings and it will reveal itself throughout our encounters, but for now, the first meaning we will attach to it is time, as in seconds. For the slogan to be clear, I will write it again, ‘Every 2nd Counts.’
When I was 15 years old my father changed. He was normally a fun loving
guy, always joking and not taking things too seriously.
But then one day, out of nowhere, he began a search for knowledge, and from this point on, my father was never the same. He started by teaching himself certain studies he thought would benefit him the most. Even though he was a college dropout, that didn’t stop him from learning what he wanted to learn.
Some of the things I remembered he studied were law, taxes, and psychology. He studied a lot more subjects and I would know because he would show us everyday what new thing he learned as if it was a brand new toy. He loved to learn. This went on for years and out of everything he talked about, he always reminded us that time is the most valuable
resource on earth because it’s the only thing in this world we can never get back.
As the leader of the family, he showed us how to use our time wisely. These were his words, ‘We need our time for development, enjoyment and productive activities. Deadlines must be set and met. Punctuality is crucial. For this to be accomplished determination is key. Give
yourself rules, follow those rules and take them seriously! Discipline yourself. Remember, Every 2nd Counts.’
The way our father quoted the slogan after every lecture began to slowly imprint on us.
The more he repeated it, the more sense it made. He wanted us to take control of our lives so he taught us how to manage our time productively. That increased our confidence. After
confidence, courage began building up in our family like skyscrapers. We became so brave we decided as a family to form a corporation and our goal then became prosperity. We began having family meetings, and these family meetings resembled board meetings. We started off discussing bills, sales, food, education, taxes, spending, and investments and how they should be managed. Now our
responsibilities are strategically distributed between each talented family member for maximum performance. As a result we reached our goal. We are now convinced that unity and organization are key components for any group's success. This is why we still conduct our family meetings till this day.
In one of our first meetings father came up with 3 rules.
‘One, there shall be no negativity throughout these halls. These walls feed off of positive energy and any opposing forces will weaken the foundation. Our goal is to reach the stars. We need the base to be well preserved to sustain our energy.
Two, you have to believe. If you don't believe, how are you going to make others believe? Exercise your passion. Find a meaningful creative spark and branch off of it. Plant the seed, water it, give sunlight, watch it grow, make sure it's healthy, cut the weeds, secure it, and dispose of any parasites. Believe you can make a difference, and present yourself as a person who has already made one!
Three, you have no limitation. You will not confine yourself to one duty or one specialty.’
Father asked us if we agreed to the terms and we did.
Lets play a game.
The game is called eliannos.
This is a game me and my family play religiously. Every time someone behaves accordingly, respectfully, and with proper manners, we give them an elianno. The phrase is usually said like this, “It’s a pleasure
doing business with you, here, you get an elianno.” In our family it’s a big deal to get an elianno. It means you are being honored and guarantee future transactions, in other words, you are valuable.
It’s similar to customer service. Any accommodation we can provide, we do. The only difference is, we aren’t looking
for money, we’re looking for eliannos.
If
there is a business deal, that’s the simple part. The numbers should have been laid out already. The question you ask yourself is, are you being valued as a client?
If not, dismiss yourself. Don’t put up with any negative energy, you don’t deserve
it.
That practice will also do a public service. If everyone refuses to do business
with this particular entity, it will force the
entity to change their behavior and become pleasant to deal with. No matter how good the deal may be, don’t do it. It’s not worth your self-respect.
This letter officially introduces the eliannos to the world.
Remember, it’s a great honor to give someone an elianno. The receiver must act accordingly, be well behaved, respectful, value time, and have family as their main priority, yours and theirs. Those are the only requirements.
Who can play this game?
Local businesses and customers can play amongst each other. Everytime someone is pleased with the service, they will give the service provider an elianno. CEO’s,
board of directors, owners, management, supervisors, the laborers and even the
customers can all receive eliannos.
An acceptance of the eliannos from businesses will show the public they take pride in their customer service.
Customers have a great reason why they should partake in the game. Ever had lousy customer service? Rhetorical,
right? The eliannos will ensure you get proper treatment as a customer. You may even request for any sales associate’s eliannos count. The establishment should have a recording system. The more eliannos they have the better their service will be, guaranteed!
Don’t forget to dismiss yourself if you are not being treated as a valuable client, act
accordingly and always be respectful.
I have now ended the introduction. May you get the fulfillment, the satisfaction, and the enjoyment my family experienced from this wonderful game. Thank you for your time, and it was a pleasure.
Here, you get an elianno.
